With 15 unique partner commanders, not all blend seamlessly together for a perfect build. With a little ingenuity and a little bit of leeway, Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa and Kraum, Ludevic’s Opus can pair together and find some path to victory. Sidar Kondo shifts the desire of wanting big, hefty, creatures in combat to focusing on the undersized, underdog utility granting creature. Kraum may be a little on the large end of the scale for Sidar Kondo, but Kraum does grant possible endless card draw as a utility based creature. With the pair being matched up, each brings something unique to the deck.

It would be easy for me to just tell you to look at my Reyhan/Ishai article and that be the end of it, but this series is supposed to make us build unique decks and as-close-to-original decks as possible. So I clearly won’t go against the spirit of the series and will discuss the partners from Breed Lethality that are Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper and Ishai, Ojutai Dragonspeaker.

Hello! My name is Bob, I’m new here and I’m helping Jordan (Frantic) and Luke knock out these Partner Commander articles. When researching the Open Hostility deck I wanted to take a unique spin on “swing all out and hope for the best” as a strategy. The problem is that there isn’t much beyond that to do unless we want to deal small chunks of damage each turn, which would not be playing to our deck’s full capacity. So instead of trying to find a way to be super unique in combat, we will instead just go for the throat and hope for the best. I can think of no other way to do this than to pair Tana, the Bloodsower with Tymna the Weaver.

After playing the Entropic Uprising deck for an evening, playing decks built around partnered commanders is intriguing. The partners that come in the deck offer 3 different styles of decks to build around and exploring each one is a wonderful brewing exercise. The Entropic Uprising deck also comes with a nice variety of good spells to select from that can create a nice core to begin the deck brewing process.

Did you know that Commander 2016 brought us 105 different commanders? Well with the new Partner mechanic and 15 different creatures being printed with it, we can combine them into 105 different pairs to allow for insane amounts of brewing. We here at Frantic Talks have decided to tackle this seemingly insane task and will bring you two articles a week covering the partners, starting with the way they were given to you in each deck (four color pairs), then moving into the wedges, shards, and guilds!
